exciting news!

We are having another baby!
I am pregnant again!!!
We are beyond thrilled and feel so blessed to be able to have another baby so quickly. I wasn't sure how my body, my hormones, or my cycle (to be quite honest) would adjust after birth. I heard it might take 9 months just to have a period again, and part of me really wanted that, but the other part knew I wanted another one soon (baby, that is)! I didn't know how long I might HAVE to wait to have another precious little baby. I feel incredibly blessed to have conceived so soon after, right when we wanted. I understand that is not the case for a lot of women and I don't take that blessing lightly. I am so grateful for the miracle that pregnancy is. I attribute this blessing to living the Word of Wisdom, fully, wholly, and completely. We are so happy to have kids close in age. My only sibling and I are 8 YEARS apart and I knew growing up I wanted my kids to be closer.  back to back- 1, 2, 3....4 ? who knows! Maybe this time around will be twins and I will be done! Ya just never know what the future holds. No matter how you try and plan, it isn't always up to us. But when my plans happen to match up with the Lord's plans, I am ever so grateful.  And so is Bentley.
Speaking of Bentley, he has been my rock the last few weeks. I have been so sick with regular pregnancy nausea, the stomach flu, sore throat, sleep deprivation. (we are trying to transition to bottle only for our little man. Anyone with sound advice on how to stop the night nursing, please! I AM ALL EARS!!!)
One night, I was hugging the toilet, dry heaving till my eyes nearly fell out, while Bentley was in the tub next to me holding our puking baby over the drain. Poor little baby got whatever I had through my breast milk, I think. It was so sad to see him throwing up so intensely. It was a night we won't soon forget, no mater how hard we try. I must have washed EVERY blanket in our house after that puke sesh! My first pregnancy was nothing like this. Some say I'm having a girl, others say maybe altitude? We are still undecided if we are going to find out the gender this time. By we, I mean me. Bentley loves the surprise, if I can just hold out! It was thrilling and motivating to find out Azure was who he is, for the first time at his birth, but we will see if my patience can stand it this time.

So there is our exciting BIG news!

Baby Murdock coming in June,
or late July (with the way I carry).
I am mentally preparing either way. :)

Its crazy to think I will be pregnant 2 halloweens in a row, 2 anniversaries in a row, 2 christmas's, and new years,  and easters..... iyiyiyi. This chapter is wild and full of diapers :)

6 months

I can't believe my baby is half a year old already (I know I sound like a broken record here, but truly...)

6 MONTHS AT A GLANCE

- 22 pounds :O

- Rolls on the floor everywhere!!

- loves to grab faces and pull them close to his

- dreams vividly, his face and body show how much he is doing in his dreams. and he often coos and sometimes yells in his sleep. (as I am typing this I can hear him snorting and kicking haha)

- Sy LOVES sweet potatoes, anything I am in the middle of eating, corn cobs, almond milk, rice milk, brown rice, and ALL fruits. He is a little eating machine.

- He is SO incredibly close to crawling its cute. He is trying so hard that he gets frustrated rather quickly and then pouts on the floor for a moment before rolling over and trying again.

- He does this new thing where he arches his back (either against me or away from me) and grunts reeeeally loudly when he wants to be put down or moved around, or I don't know why sometimes.

- Sy is not selective with his smiles, he flashes a big gummy smile with his whole face. I htink the best part of his smile are his eyes.

- When he is getting closer and closer to bed time he turns around and looks up at me puts his hand under my chin and tries to suck on my face.... as if to say, hey mom if I can't have your boob, well then I guess your face will have to do...

- 2 teeth have finally popped through and I think the top 2 are on their way.

- Sy loves to play in leaves and look up the trees. He especially loves to spin around outside with dad.

- He is so calm and even tempered, he really is happy most of the time and watches everything around him. I can't wait to see more and more of his personality come out.

My baby really is a big cuddle bug, I prayed hard for that.
He loves to sleep with me and/or bentley. We are trying hard to make the crib a routine. it works great for the first half of the night but by 1 in the morning I want to cuddle so badly too its just not worth it! In the bed he goes :)
Our place is so tiny right now anyways we might as well all be piled in the same bed.
Thats the way we like it.

My boy is my boy is my boy. He is all mine :) and I love him so much.

5 MONTHS!!

I know I know I missed the 4 month post, but ya know life happens and it is often too fast to keep up with! July is one heck of month for us, it always has been; with holidays, my birthday, family reunions, and summer trips. I'll have to do a post on our California trip later on, it deserves its' own post. I want to have that documented while its fresh in my mind.

Anyways, without further ado here is our little (big) boy at 5 months!

QUICK STATS
- 18.4 pounds
- 29 inches long
- 90th percentile (not sure how important this is, but i looked it up anyways)
- SMILES ALL THE TIME
- loves mango, watermelon, peaches, apples, avocado, rice, sweet potatoes, water from MY cup!

PERSONALITY
- climbed out of his crib..... yea, I cried. Thought he was going to be traumatized, but when I RAN into his room to see him lying ON THE GROUND he smiled at me. Scared me half to death.
- SY absolutely loves face time with just about anyone but his cousins in particular are his favorite people to be around.
- uncle Noah brings a smile and a laugh to his face, always.
- Sy LOVES cheerleaders.... no other way to put it. I don know if it is their sparkly pom poms or makeup drenched faces that he likes. This new found love was realized at our small town parade last week. I had to walk along side the cheerleaders during the parade to keep him from crying. Oh boy.
- He is trying to be more and more independent at the table, reaching for the spoon and feeding himself. If I don't let him try alone he makes sure I know that he is frustrated by that.
- The only time he is ever really fussy is when we are all eating as a family and he can't have exactly what we are having! It could be worse, I am glad that is the extent of his worries :)
- outdoor lover, we walk everyday for miles
- I am sure he recognizes Shawn T's voice from the INSANITY workout tapes ;) yes I do that, and yes he loves to watch and even laughs when I move really fast.
- Sy does this intense sitting up position from his back  that looks like boat pose, his abs are certainly strong as a result.
- He thinks he going to get up and walk before learning to crawl.
- He loves sitting in the tee-pee in the morning while I get breakfast ready. He plays with toys and his toes.
- Since the discovery of his own feet he can't get enough of them!
- Loves dads nose... I mean LOVE LOVE LOVES his nose. He must think if he tries hard enough milk will come out.
- Getting more adventurous in the water and started splashing around in the pool and bath tub

We love you honey bear.
every roll, every dimple, every smile, every spit up, and every blow out poop.

You are the happiest babe ever :)

California girl at heart

Our trip to California this summer was a much needed for this California grown sunflower.
We started in the bay area, drove down to clovis, on to San Luis Obispo, then Santa Monica, and last but not least New Port for my darling Kari's wedding.  We traveled through the entire state with a new born! All for family and friends of course. We might be a little bit crazy, but he was such an angel. So I am sure we will do it again :) Seriously, I don't know how I got so lucky with this babe of mine. He is a great little travel buddy.
I was SO nervous about a 13 hour car drive, but he surprised us all.  There were a few extra stops for diaper changes and just to get out and have a change of scenery. I really love my boys. I am such a blessed, blessed girl.

Any ways, here are some photos to document our state long trip. We will take all the time we can get with grandparents, uncle chris, and friends :)
AND weddings.
I LOVE weddings!!

3 MONTHS OLD

My how you have grown. I can't believe you are a quarter of a year old, 12 weeks, 3 months!!! Where has the time gone? I feel like every time I turn around it's saturday again. Maybe now that we are officially and completely moved in time will slow down a little. Because honestly... if it doesn't... I don't know what I am going to do!!! I am slowly realizing how quickly this stage of life is going to pass.  I am already missing his infant infant stage, guess I'll have to have another one ;) kidding... kinda! (babies are addicting)

You weigh 16 pounds and 4 ounces!!!! You are a little tank :) Strangers do not believe me when I tell them you are 3 months old

Rolling over does not interest you much, but you HATE being your tummy sa bad that you try with all your might to get on your back. It's really cute.

Sy you are a HUGE smiler, you smile at just about anyone or anything, and sometimes you let out a little chuckle at the same time. My hearts melts multiple times a day.

You loves his aunty Melynne and aunt Chandler :) smiley eyes with them all day long!

Your legs are extremely strong. You can stand up and bare your own weight with my fingers under your armpits or just holding your hands. Your balance isn't quite there yet so some support is definitely needed. I am in trouble when you start walking, I can tell your fast moving legs are just going to take off and never stop.

My favorite part of this stage is watching little bits of your personality shine through. Normally this happens when you are well rested and fed, all your needs are met and you are just YOU. Your eyes have an excited look all the time, and you are curious about everything.

Your love of ceiling fans has not decreased in the slightest.

You have been sleeping SO much this week. I'm talking like 3 hour naps mid day after your morning 1 hour nap and one more in the evening before bath time. I am loving it :)

Speaking of bath time- oh how you love the water, you are my baby after all. During our bath you love to curl your knees up to your chest and push my hand back with your head so you can float on your back and kick, kick, kick. Those legs NEVER STOP. You have gotten water up your nose a time or two and you actually laughed.... maybe it tickled? Hopefully that reaction doesn't let up.

Just the other day Kim was holding you face to face and you leaned away from her, turned your torso around so that you were facing me, you leaned towards me with your arms stretched in my direction and you whimpered a little. It was the most intentional, grown up toddler thing you have ever done.  As soon as you were back in my arms you buried your face in my chest and sucked your hand (you haven't discovered your thumb yet, you try to eat your hand). Everyone in the room awwwwed and called you a mama's boy!

You also know your daddy now, you smile and laugh at him all the time. you love to touch his whiskery face and suck/gnaw on his fingers.

You have started talking yourself to sleep while you nurse. It is really loud and monotone, so funny.

oh honey bear :) we love you SO much I can't stand it!!!!
You are my baby boy and I get to wake up to you every day.
Dad and I are beyond stoked. We fight over who gets to hold you during third hour of church and every evening before bedtime.
You are very much loved.

2 MONTHS OLD!

My baby boy is 2 months! We have been in Utah for a month now and we are loving it. Sy (what we have been calling him) and I walk into town nearly everyday. Well, except for when it rains which has been most of this week, but I'll gladly  take it. I prayed like crazy for rain and a little wintery weathery before summer hits. We have met the owners of the little local cake and bakery, the antique store, the upcycled vintage finds, and the sewing/fabric shop. This small town living is real nice right. Sweet slow pace for me and a newborn. Everyone has of course loved Sy. He is not selective with his smiles so he gums just about anyone that flashes their pearly whites at him.
He also...

- Loves to unlatch mid feed and have a staring contest with me, he always wins, and it always end in big smiles before he goes right back to sucking.

-He has gained lots of good weight. His chunkiness is staring to show in his thighs, feet, double chin, and fatty hand dimples. Oh those dimples :) He is currently 13.8 lbs. and steadily gaining.

- Mornings are our favorite. He is usually up at 6 for 2 hours and then promptly goes down for his morning nap.  I am still letting him just sleep as long as he wants for that nap. That np is my safe haven, my sanity keeper, my busiest hours of the day. He needs it too, he is growing, and it doesn't seem to mess with our night routine. However, those afternoon naps have to be interrupted or else I will regret it at 2, 3, and 4 in the morning.

- I have never seen those wee hours more in my life... He normally sleeps really well, but man this boy can eat! He is always hungry. His fast metabolism definitely comes from Bentley.

- I love having a partner in calorie consumption!!!!!

- Sy enjoys reading with me in the morning right when we get up before a little yoga - never to young to start!

- His most talkative time of the day is also morning. Our conversations are the highlight of my day. I cant wait for his first words and phrases to start rolling. I constantly daydream about where it will happen, what he will say, and to whom.

- Bentley and I LOVE when he does this big long, sumo squat stretch while reaching for the sky in the middle of sleeping. Its hard to catch on camera, but I assure it is just about the cutest thing to whitness and hear.

- He loves attention, he craves eye contact, and always wants to be entertained.... it takes a lot if energy on our part at times. But this parenting stuff is the most rewarding 'job' ever ever ever!

- I found a little birth mark on his right inner thigh. Most likely  to be hidden by rolls soon ;)
